Translation of Figures in GeoGebra

1.

Open Algebra View and Graphics View under  View in  Menu.

2.

Draw an arbitrary figure in the Graphics View by using Polygon .

3.

In the Algebra View, type

Translate(Object, Vector)

where you replace Object with the name of the figures and Vector with a vector of the form

(x, y)

The $x$-value of the vector determines if the figure is translated to the right or left:

• A positive $x$-value translates the figure to the right;

• A negative $x$-value translates the figure to the left.

The $y$-value of the vector determines if the figure is translated upward or downward:

• A positive $y$-value translates the figure upward;

• A negative $y$-value translates the figure downward.
